This Privacy Policy explains how SceneNova ("we", "us") collects, uses, and shares information when you use our website at www.scenenova.com, our plugins for video editing applications, and the AI generation services available through them (collectively, the "Services"). By using the Services, you agree to the practices described here.
1. Information We Collect
Information you provide to us:
- Account information. Your email address, display name, and password. Passwords are stored only as salted cryptographic hashes — we never store your password in plain text.
- Google sign-in. If you sign in with Google, we receive your verified email address, name, and profile picture from Google. We never see your Google password.
- Generation inputs. The prompts, reference media, and settings you submit when running generation tasks.
- Payment information. Payments are processed by Stripe. We receive transaction records (amount, status, last four digits of the card) but never your full card number.
Information collected automatically:
- Device and connection data. IP address, browser user agent, and — for plugin connections — a device identifier, device name, host application (e.g. Premiere Pro), and plugin version.
- Usage records. Logs of generation tasks including the model used, token or credit consumption, task status, and timestamps, kept for billing and abuse prevention.
- Cookies. We use strictly necessary cookies to keep you signed in and to secure sign-in flows (session cookie and OAuth state cookie). We do not use advertising cookies.
2. How We Use Your Information
- to provide the Services, including running the generation tasks you request;
- to manage accounts, wallets, subscriptions, and payments;
- to secure the Services, prevent fraud and abuse, and enforce rate limits;
- to respond to support requests and send service-related notices;
- to understand aggregate usage and improve the Services.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your content to train AI models.
3. How We Share Information
- AI model providers. Your generation inputs are transmitted to upstream AI model providers to perform the tasks you request. Inputs are associated with a service token rather than your personal identity wherever possible.
- Payment processing. Stripe processes payments and receives the billing details needed to complete transactions.
- Identity providers. Google, when you choose to sign in with Google.
- Infrastructure providers. Cloud hosting and database providers that store and serve our systems under contractual confidentiality obligations.
- Legal requirements. We may disclose information where required by law or to protect the rights, safety, and integrity of the Services.
- Business transfers. If we are involved in a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction.
4. Data Retention
We keep account information for as long as your account exists. Usage and billing records are retained as needed for accounting, dispute resolution, and legal compliance. Session records expire automatically. When you delete your account, we delete or de-identify your personal information except where retention is required by law.
5. Security
We protect your information with industry-standard measures: TLS encryption in transit, hashed passwords, encrypted storage of service tokens, and access controls on production systems. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security — please use a strong, unique password.
6. International Transfers
Our infrastructure and service providers may be located in countries other than yours. Where your information is transferred internationally, we take reasonable steps to ensure it receives an adequate level of protection.
7. Children
The Services are not directed to children and require users to be at least 18 years old. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors; if you believe a minor has provided us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
8. Your Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal information, and to withdraw consent to processing. You can update your profile from the dashboard, and you can exercise any of these rights by contacting us at support@scenenova.com. We respond to verified requests within the timeframe required by applicable law.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be posted on this page with a new "Last updated" date and, where appropriate, notified by email or in-app notice.
